If you love those who wronged you, why do you continue to bring up the wrongs? Love covers a multitude of sin. 1 Peter 4:8
Psalm 7; Psalm 35; Psalm 55; Psalm 58; Psalm 59; Psalm 69; Psalm 79; Psalm 109; Psalm 137; Psalm 139.

But to be honest, I'm a little uncomfortable with all of the "wrath" stuff especially Psalm 137:9.

But, it's Bible and is to be preferred before the words of Tolkien. Maybe Frodo was just a wus for sailing off with the elves?

God is righteous and He will see that we reap what we sow, but I was thinking more along the lines of David, Saul, and Absalom or Joseph and his brothers or Peter and Jesus.

Have you read the Tale of Three Kings?

I loved reading the Hobbit when I was younger. And The Lord of the Rings trilogy was a good read and really good on the big screen. Frodo a wus? Maybe he was a little bit wiser.

I might think that she was trying to spread that message IF she named her pastor. But this person has gone to great length to make sure that her pastor is NOT named. She's not attacking the pastor personally. She's stating what happened to her and asking if it has happened to others and if so how to get past it to move on. That's been my take on what she's said as I've read thru this thread anyway.

What I don't understand is - if we all agree that there really are some pastors out there who have no business pastoring a church then why is that when someone has an experience with one of these pastors and is hurt, we attack that person? Have they done something wrong by choosing to be in the church under the pastor who shouldn't be pastoring? Is it their fault that the guy is doing wrong??? Isn't that kind of like blaming the pastor when he has a saint who goes off in sin?

This is exactly what happened to someone I know. He wanted to leave his church (where most of the people had already left) and attend a different assembly. The district would not let him (he was a preacher) and so, he just left the UPC altogether!
