Re: You Be The Judge: Anderson Vs Burk
If I were Jesus and I wanted to let my disciples know that one day I would
be returning, how could I make it any plainer than the following statement?
St. John 14:3
3And if I go and prepare a place for you, I will come again, and receive you unto myself; that where I am, there ye may be also.
And, if I wanted my disciples to know that when I returned that I would raise the dead and that I would "catch away" the living
saints, how could I make it any plainer than through what was spoken by the Spirit through the Apostle Paul.
1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
13But I would not have you to be ignorant, brethren, concerning them which are asleep, that ye sorrow not, even as others which have no hope.
14For if we believe that Jesus died and rose again, even so them also which sleep in Jesus will God bring with him.
15For this we say unto you by the word of the Lord, that we which are alive and remain unto the coming of the Lord shall not prevent them which are asleep.
16For the Lord himself shall descend from heaven with a shout, with the voice of the archangel, and with the trump of God: and the dead in Christ shall rise first:
17Then we which are alive and remain shall be caught up together with them in the clouds, to meet the Lord in the air: and so shall we ever be with the Lord.
18Wherefore comfort one another with these words.

Oh, that is a good one, but these are a bit plainer and tell of Jesus' coming happening within the generation of His listeners...
Mat 24:34
(34) Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass, till all these things be fulfilled.
Mat 16:28
(28) Verily I say unto you, There be some standing here, which shall not taste of death, till they see the Son of man coming in his kingdom.
Mat 23:36
(36) Verily I say unto you, All these things shall come upon this generation.
Mar 13:30
(30) Verily I say unto you, that this generation shall not pass, till all these things be done.
Luk 11:50
(50) That the blood of all the prophets, which was shed from the foundation of the world, may be required of this generation;
Luk 21:32
(32) Verily I say unto you, This generation shall not pass away, till all be fulfilled.
Rev 1:1
(1) The Revelation of Jesus Christ, which God gave unto him, to show unto his servants things which must shortly come to pass; and he sent and signified it by his angel unto his servant John:
Rev 1:3
(3) Blessed is he that readeth, and they that hear the words of this prophecy, and keep those things which are written therein: for the time is at hand.
Rev 1:19
(19) Write the things which thou hast seen, and the things which are, and the things which shall be hereafter;
Rev 4:1
(1) After this I looked, and, behold, a door was opened in heaven: and the first voice which I heard was as it were of a trumpet talking with me; which said, Come up hither, and I will show thee things which must be hereafter.
Rev 22:6
(6) And he said unto me, These sayings are faithful and true: and the Lord God of the holy prophets sent his angel to show unto his servants the things which must shortly be done.
Rev 22:10
(10) And he saith unto me, Seal not the sayings of the prophecy of this book: for the time is at hand.

Has the trumpet sounded? Have all of the dead in Christ been raised?
Have the Saints been caught up to meet him in the air to forever be with
the Lord? If all of these things have happened we are in big trouble!

HSMF, you didn't explain where the verses I gave say anything other than what they do, which is that Jesus said He would return within His First Century generation.
Concerning your above questions, you better hope they've come to pass. If they have not, then this next verse is a real problem…
Mat 5:18 For verily I say unto you, Till heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in no wise pass from the law, till all be fulfilled. If “all” has not yet been “fulfilled,” do you then teach the 613 commandments are still necessary?

When Jesus comes for his bride, He spirit will be taken from the earth. PERIOD!! No one will be able to recieve the Holy Ghost. And we are still having people recieve "that same Spirit" here. So I will say without hesitation: The Rapture of the Bride has NOT happened yet!! Jesus has NOT come in the FLESH yet!! But my Brothers & Sisters, HE WILL COME!!
Acts 1:8 But ye shall receive power, after that the Holy Ghost is come upon you: and ye shall be witnesses unto me both in Jerusalem, and in all Judaea, and in Samaria, and unto the uttermost part of the earth.
Acts 1:9 And when he had spoken these things, while they beheld, he was taken up; and a cloud received him out of their sight.
Acts 1:10 And while they looked stedfastly toward heaven as he went up, behold, two men stood by them in white apparel;
Acts 1:11 Which also said, Ye men of Galilee, why stand ye gazing up into heaven? this same Jesus, which is taken up from you into heaven, shall so come in like manner as ye have seen him go into heaven.
Mark 13:26 And then shall they see the Son of man coming in the clouds with great power and glory.
Mark 13:27 And then shall he send his angels, and shall gather together his elect from the four winds, from the uttermost part of the earth to the uttermost part of heaven.
Mar 13:32 But of that day and that hour knoweth no man, no, not the angels which are in heaven, neither the Son, but the Father.

By the claims of some, one would think they know more than Jesus Christ!

So according to your belief, once the church and the Holy Ghost is removed from the earth, will there still be an opportunity available for those "left behind" to be saved?

Doc, are you Jehovah Witness, or Mormon? There will be NO plan of salvation for those who could have been saved from Calvary until the day Jesus comes back. Everyone up until the return of the Lord will have an opportunity to be saved according to Acts 2:38. It then becomes a personal decision to accept or reject that opportunity!!
Luke 24:46 And said unto them, Thus it is written, and thus it behoved Christ to suffer, and to rise from the dead the third day:
Luke 24:47 And that repentance and remission of sins should be preached in his name among all nations, beginning at Jerusalem.
2 Peter 3:9 The Lord is not slack concerning his promise, as some men count slackness; but is longsuffering to us-ward, not willing that any should perish, but that all should come to repentance.
God made a promise that this message would be preached to ALL NATIONS, thus giving ALL NATIONS the privilege to get right and turn from sin. Just as it was in Noah's day, if you miss the boat the first time, honey, you won't get a second chance!!
