Hymenaeus was teaching that the resurrection had taken place, and since that had happened no one else would go to be with the Lord. Apostolic Pentecostals who believe in Fulfilled Eschatology believe to be absent from the body is to be present with the Lord. Paul's argument against Hymenaeus was that he obviously was teaching that all souls had already resurrected, and that no one from that point onward would go on to live with the Lord in eternity. Henceforth you have a teaching that was destroying faith.

Please explain why Paul was admonished by James to make an animal sacrifice in the temple and take two other men who had Nazerite vows on them.
Gentiles were admonished to NOT keep the Law of Moses, but Jews had to keep the Law as long as the temple stood.
Act 21:18-24
"And the day following Paul went in with us unto James; and all the elders were present. And when he had saluted them, he declared particularly what things God had wrought among the Gentiles by his ministry. And when they heard it, they glorified the Lord, and said unto him, Thou seest, brother, how many thousands of Jews there are which believe; and they are all zealous of the law: And they are informed of thee, that thou teachest ALL the JEWS which are among the Gentiles to FORSAKE MOSES, saying that they ought NOT to circumcise their children, neither to walk after the customs. WHAT IS IT THEREFORE? the multitude must needs come together: for they will hear that thou art come. Do therefore this that we say to thee: We have four men which have a vow on them; Them take, and purify thyself with them, and be at charges with them, that they may shave their heads: and ALL MAY KNOW that those things, whereof they were informed concerning thee, ARE NOTHING; but that thou thyself also WALKEST ORDERLY, and KEEPEST THE LAW."
Brother the only event that truly removed every jot and tittle from the LAW was 70 AD.
The temple was wiped from the face of the earth. Jesus admonished the Jews that they must keep the Law until heaven and earth be removed.
Any Jew who didn't teach all of the Law was considered the least in the Kingdom of heaven, and any Jew who taught all of the Law was great.
Jesus admonished the Jews that they needed to have their righteousness exceed the Pharisees. The Pharisees talked the talk, but they didn't walk the walk. I don't discount the cross the blood of Jesus made the antonement, and the vail was rent in two giving acess. Yet, the temple service still continued and the Apostle Paul was a good Law keeping Jew as were all the Jews who were baptized in Jesus name and filled with the Holy Ghost. They were following the teachings of Jesus Christ who told them to do it, until the temple was removed. There would only be ONE temple left, and that is the Body of Jesus Christ, the olive tree, the true Israel of God.
Mat 5:17-20
"Think not that I am come to destroy the law, or the prophets: I am not come to destroy, but to FULFILL. For verily I say unto you, TILL heaven and earth pass, one jot or one tittle shall in NO WISE PASS from the law, TILL all be FULFILLED. Whosoever therefore shall break one of these least commandments, and shall teach men so, he shall be called the least in the kingdom of heaven: but whosoever shall do and teach them, the same shall be called great in the kingdom of heaven. For I say unto you, That except your righteousness shall exceed the righteousness of the scribes and Pharisees, ye shall in no case enter into the kingdom of heaven."

I've actually heard a very well know AFP explain this scripture saying it has to do with cultural relevance, but not God's plan of redemption, I tend to agree. I would name who taught this, but the weird thing is he's a closet FP, his church doesn't even know it.

Re: You Be The Judge: Anderson Vs Burk
No one has kept Biblical Judaism since the temple was removed.
What people call Judaism today would of been called a foreign religion by the Jews of the Bible. Rabbinical Judaism evolved since the destruction of Jerusalem. It shares nothing in common with the Judaism of the Bible.
Nor can it be called Biblical, and follows the Talmud over the Torah.
Every jot and tittle was removed in 70 A.D. which is concrete proof that Jesus is the Messiah.

A well known AFP who is in the closet? Excuse me my Brother but how can you be both well known and in hiding?
You are appreciated.

Jason, please explain what this means.

Bro., let me publicly say that some of the best times of fellowship in my life were with Bro Burk and Bro Benincasa, knowing they were fp's and myself pp. When we speak about our differences, we are quite strong on what we believe and why we disagree. Even Paul and Barnabas got upset with one another, and that is our human weakness showing. However, I know these men love God with all their hearts, and study the bible tenaciously. I expect to see them in glory for they love and know and live Acts 2 salvation.

This pains because probably I would have more in common with both Elders Burk & Benincasa than others who hold a view closer to mine on this issue. But this gap is so large it becomes a fellowship issue. I pray they recover from their error and you get back to your roots. I say this in love.
