BTW I am on disability but I have other income from interest and farm properties. It does not add up to much though. The sad part is it's rather confusing to do all that, it's not just a 1040, so I go to a tax guy. I paid $170 dollars to find out I owe the IRS $6 dollars but will be getting a state tax refund of $1 and you can be sure I am making them pay me :-)

For many years the government sent me 32 cents to not plant rye on my farm. I never had, but it was legislation passed in the farm subsidy programs.
The $170 is tax deductible.

It is mid boggling how many ways taxes are collected. The hot trend now is to change the words. California has service fees, My phone bill has "subscriber line charge"
toll charges, Universal service fee,
registration charges and many trick words.

I just can't believe I owe. Here people who made more than I did are getting between $500 to over $1,000 in refunds ... plus they received that stimulus check back in June ... yet I'm owing $635, and I didn't get the stimulus check because it went to my stupid school loan.
Just a little frustrated here on tax day.

I hate to rain on your pity party but your thoughts out in left field:
1. Student loans are neither stupid or smart. The determination of that is the individual who signed on the dotted line...ugh, sorry, but that would be you.
2. Whether someone makes more than you and is getting more back than you is just a numbers game. They either had way too much withheld or planned their year better than you.
3. Stop whining and get control of your life -- all things are possible to him that believeth

Yeah, ok, I noticed that part too. lol
And, I'm wondering....if your stimulus check went to your student loan.....this means you're behind on your student loan?
