Next NBC (wholly owned subsidiary of General Electric) runs "Earth Week" where they darken the lights to ['save electricity during the NFL playoffs" to "heighten awareness" and NBC news runs a bunch of stories about global warming and the plight of the polar bear and get everyone wringing their hands.
Next democrat congress people start beating the drum and we just HAVE to do something..... and then they hold hearings.... and then a law gets passed that (guess what) forces people to preplaced their cheep incandescent light bulbs with expensive florescent light bulbs (guess who makes the most florescent light bulbs and guess who stands to make the most money and guess who GE has been giving gigantic amounts of campaign contributions to...)
What we heard was republicans saying it wasn’t a good idea, and democrats saying republicans want to destroy the earth.
what happened was GE lobbied and then bought and paid for democrats to pass legislation to make them $$$$$$$.... and NBC reported the democrats explaining who nasty the mean republicans were to want to melt the earth and make us all live in a hothouse.
We got played. The dems took the money and ran GE and NBC made boo-koo bucks and nobody even takes a second look at the fact that landfills are now filling with mercury and will eventually leach into our water supply.
Eko-facism at its best. We get played and we pay for the poison that will kill us all... all the time blaming the republicans for hating the environment.
I bet most folk didnt even know that happened.

That's incredible! Thanks for the information. I admit, I didn't know the story behind the change. I thought I had heard the lights were a forced change through some environmental legislation, but wasn't sure.
Forget tea party, I think we should have a light bulb party. I mean seriously, this will have terrible adverse affects on people's health and there will be (insert the blank) to pay for the Dems when those lawsuits start rolling in.
Unfortunately, I don't believe the Republicans have done enough to speak out against this.
