Those spiders are little but they sure do the damage!
My only encounter with one was when I was getting out of the shower one day and put a towel over my head. I dried my face before wrapping my head and felt what I thought was hair on my face.
I brushed it off and it felt rubbery. I looked down in the tub and there he was. Little guy too.
I don't remember jumping out of the tub but suddenly I was on the outside. I'd never seen a brown recluse but heard lots about them. Having a phobia but being alone, I knew I had to kill him, but I needed to identify him as well, just in case.
I put the towel on him several times until his legs curled. I then left him for a couple hours.
I went on the internet to get pics and discovered that one can be bitten and not know it. Off I went to inspect my face really good, fearing that my nose would be gone in the morning if I'd been bitten. Thankfully, I hadn't been.
After a couple hours, I got the nerve to go check him out further. I picked him up and was shaking so bad that if he were to have moved, I wouldn't have noticed. I laid him down on the sink to identify him and he was positive for being a brown recluse.
After that encounter, I shook my towels and clothing, shoes, etc. Never did see another one, and now that I live in Wisconsin, I no longer have them to worry about.
I think my heart rate just jumped from 55 to 155 just typing this all up!
