Nights in White Satin
I remember when I was thinking of leaving the UPC. I listened to this song and with tears streaming down my face and while speaking in tongues.....I took it to heart.....singing to the Lord, I love you.....
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9muzyOd4Lh8
Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters Ive written,
Never meaning to send.
Beauty Id always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I cant say anymore.
cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Gazing at people,
Some hand in hand,
Just what Im going thru
They can't understand.
Some try to tell me
Thoughts they cannot defend
Just what you want to be
You will be in the end,
And I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.
Nights in white satin,
Never reaching the end,
Letters Ive written,
Never meaning to send.
Beauty Id always missed
With these eyes before,
Just what the truth is
I cant say anymore.
cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.
cause I love you,
Yes, I love you,
Oh, how, I love you.
Oh, how, I love you.

Re: Nights in White Satin
What did the song have to do with you leaving the UPCI? If I might ask? Just curious.

It just expressed how I was feeling...."just what the truth is, I can't say anymore"....."Some try to tell me thoughts they cannot defend"....." just what I'm going through, they can't understand" and yet....to the Lord "I love you"....

It's a worldly song. I really like it but don't think of it in context of my relationship to God.

ILG,
I think it's neat that you were able to relate and have some healing by listening to this song.
There are several secular love songs that could be interpreted that way.

Re: Nights in White Satin
A song that proved to be a turning point in my life was a song by Ray Stevens..... actually a serious song. "Be Your Own Best Friend". It convinced me that it was time to stop wallowing in the past, pick myself up and move on. I would drive down the road with tears pouring down my face, listening to it. God used that song in my life. It helped turn me around.

I prefer using "secular" when expressing the difference from a Christian song.

Re: Nights in White Satin
I used to have alot of Moody Blues albums.Nights in White Satin came from a album recorded with The London Philharmonic Orchestra.
This is kinda of a neat song, but I haven't a clue what it means.
