I bought an extra battery and it lasts up to 10 hours.

I have a Sony too...one thing I hate about it though is that "shoe"...if you lose it or it breaks...good luck. I always have extra cables around.
Another drawback on my model is no light

I also had no light in mine, but I bought one for it, and it still does not do the trick very well.
i also got a bluetooth wireless mic for it. Awesome. And it already has night vision, but they sell a night vision enhancer that really opens it up for dark viewing.

Mine has NV too but I don't think it has the Mic capability. If I had more money I would have gotten something better
