Re: National Donut Day...

Rats! I missed out. If I had known it would have been my duty to have found the nearest Krispy Kreme and to have indulged.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

Re: National Donut Day...

As I pause to reflect about it, I think the best donuts I ever ate were the glazed donuts my mom and dad used to make for us kids.

They were young and and so were we...not much money back then, but sure have some warm memories.

Donut trivia:

Did you know that the donut machine was invented in 1920?!

Were you aware that per capita, Canada has more donut shops than any other country?!

Did you know that over 10 billion donuts are made in the U.S. every year?!

And did you know that the largest donut made was an American-style jelly donut weighing 1.7 tons?!

Wonder what an unAmerican-style jelly donut is like?!

Anyway, if you missed the day, need a sugar rush, or just want to enjoy a good donut, go for it!!
And that is just for the cops.

Re: National Donut Day...

There was a donut shop not to far from Christian Life College whose donuts were good enough to skip chapel for.

Oh and I got my free donut from KK to celebrate donut day.
