There are apostolic churches in LA that are cult-like, too. It's not a state thing....it's a spiritual thing.

Oh MAN! I could have SO much fun in a church like that!

Part of the spirit/personality of a pharisee is the inability to laugh at themselves as well as being very easily offended (while having NO regards as to who they offend). As Rush always says, these are the people who are fun to 'tweak'.

If you are concerned with what others will think of you, then that is condemnation. If you are totally mortified and deeply concerned about what GOD thinks of you, that's conviction.

That being said, that probably won't totally answer your question, because in reality, you have to study this out for yourself and come to your own spiritually guided conclusion.
The problem with the statement in bold, is that I don't think someone would have a conviction that they must wear pants because they are "mortified and deeply concerned about what GOD thinks of you." And if they are wearing pants then they are not concerned about what the "Holiness" people think. But, a person my be "totally mortified and deeply concerned about what GOD thinks" of them if they don't wear a dress because they believe the "Godly" people that have taught them that.

That leaves us with the statement GraceAmazing followed this up with, but the prayer will be different for the one in the Holiness crowd than it will be for the one that wears pants already.

I conclude with this though. I think person that mentioned the rebelliousness in the heart is the issue is correct. Are you wanting to wear pants so YOU fit in with the world, or are you wanting to wear pants so that you minister to the world without them thinking the outside is what needs to change.

Does that make sense? It just seems that when the focus is on the outside, it creates a false idea that the person is doing right on the inside. If we clearly LIVE an example of being Holy on the inside, then how we look on the outside will reflect our seeing our bodies as the temple of the Holy Spirit.

I believe we need to dress modestly (in a way that does not cause male or female to commit adultery in their hearts) and appropriate to the culture we are in so that we do not draw attention to ourselves. You might dress differently in Southern California than you would in Michigan, for instance. You would certainly dress differently in many other countries.

I certainly don't wear pants to fit in with the world. I'm a non-conformist in most aspects of life.

I wear pants because I find them more comfortable, warmer, and I feel more covered in them. YMMV.

Amen and I am not a women... I don't see how some can fill modest in a skirt all you have to do is raise it up if you get my drift.......atleast with pants you have to atleast unbutton and unzip that sounds alot more modest to me.....And I am not being dirty here but stating facts...LOL

Pants will always be more modest because they cover better then a skirt......

Re: Your experience when you dropped "dress standa

The process:

1. I pierced my ears
2. I cut my hair
3. I wore pants
4. I applied makeup.

I went from one extreme to the other as far as color, i.e., I wore red lipstick and nailpolish for a couple years until I finally swung back in to moderation and now I wear light makeup and french manicure for fingers & toes.

I agree that pants are much more modest than most dresses but I think you also need to be aware of proper attire for the occasion

Blessings, Rhoni

Absolutely! The weather has much to do with my wearing pants. Because of leg injuries I wear them when it is cold or wet. Once the metal in my legs get cold...I ache all the way down to my bones.

Nope...

We took index cards and wrote the possible combinations on them and drew cards rather than throwing the dice.
