Now if he will only pardon the tax payers for not paying the higher taxes he is going to impose...not pay 4-5$ a gallon gas, not by his Euro-cr@p cars he is gonna force Chrystler and GM to build...

Digging4Truth- From firing CEO's to closing down dealerships; from threatening his opponents with the press, IRS and pitch forks; to now having more authority to excuse this child's absence than this child's father. I don't think it is A GOOD MINDSET even if meant as a joke.

I thought it was a very cute story. That little girl will remember for the rest of her life the President of the United States writing her an excuse for missing school.
I doubt very seriously that school will ever see that note except maybe a photocopied version of it.

I think you're stretching it quite a bit.  Most schools already require a doctor's note for a child to miss for an illness--a parent's word isn't good enough.
I don't like Obama, either, but I don't see the need to nitpick at every little thing he does unless the action deserves it.

I'm not a fan but I thought the moment was a rather nice one.... one that the girl will remember until her dieing day.
I wonder if the reactions would be the same had Bush done the same thing?

What! I have NEVER ever supplied a doctor's note for my children missing school.
The point here is that the President's say so should not carry more weight than the father's say so regarding the choice he has made for his daughter. The "humor" at writing a note to her teacher says otherwise.
Given the President's track record; we should pay attention. Out of the mouth (when not using a teleprompter), the  speaketh.
