It's about time He get's the glory. It was He that saved me. It was He that delivered me. It was not an organization, not standards, not a magic formula.
I can't tell you how often I have heard "sermons" that mention "One God!" and "Standards" or of some pastor bashing those "Charismatic pastors" etc etc...and not mention Jesus.
Years ago I sat through a hard liner preaching on standards and was really REALLY down on women. Even his wife looked livid...yet the whole time the crowd went nuts when he mentioned standards. When he mentioned Jesus they were silent.
So while some of you might thump your chest and declare how greatful you are to BE Apostolic, I want to say how greatful I am to Jesus for being my savior

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)
Every sinner must repent of their sins.
That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.
The saint will go on to strive to live a holy life, pleasing to God.

I'm grateful for the mercy of God. He is always faithful. We move toward Him an inch and He has His arms wide open and draws nearer to us by miles. When we fail, He never fails to pick us up and pour out His love upon us.
If you can't see the love of God toward you in your life, look at Jesus Christ.
Rom 5:8 But God commendeth his love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us.
1 John 3:16 Hereby perceive we the love of God, because he laid down his life for us...

I went to an anniversary meeting one time, they were lifting up the pastor. No problems with that. But then one man got up and said "I am glad to know about the love of Jesus" It got silent in the crowd, there must have been 500 people there.
Prax, I hope we never forget that it's all about Him. How many times in the Epistles did Paul write that He was giving thanks to God.
Amen and Amen!! We don't have time to point to ourselves or our organizations or churches and hope the world will be impressed. We've got to communicate the truth of the love, mercy and salvation that awaits every sinner who'll call on the name of Jesus.
I'm thankful for his boundless, inseperable love that carries me and all of us every day.
Romans 8:38,39 And I am convinced that nothing can ever separate us from God’s love. Neither death nor life, neither angels nor demons,[a] neither our fears for today nor our worries about tomorrow—not even the powers of hell can separate us from God’s love. No power in the sky above or in the earth below—indeed, nothing in all creation will ever be able to separate us from the love of God that is revealed in Christ Jesus our Lord. (NLT)

... Prax... I'm not much of a Shockamooer, but, I was thinking the other day of the verse: "Cry aloud and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion, for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of you" (or something like that). I got to thinking about the many times He has shown me just how great He can be. Like the time He held a wheel on my car (literally!) so I could make it to a revival. Or the time He healed my almost lifeless son of a raging fever. Or how he supplied my needs in some of the most unusual ways. Or how, while praying for a sister in a meeting once, He had me to pray for her "green refrigerator" with no idea why I was praying for such a thing. Turned out, the sisters green refrigerator had quit that very day (without my knowledge), and in answer to prayer, a brother gave here a new GREEN refrigerator that very night.
Well, I could go on and on... but, well, the point is made. You can call me Apostolic, Pentecostal or whatever. Words. Just words. But what I really want to be called is "His".
