You can't get away from Hannity, Limbaugh and Colter to have any concern for the Constitution of the U.S. I commend it to your reading when you get done with Glen Beck's "Common Sense" (or the lack thereof).

I wasn't addressing the Cole. I actually agree with you Esther (stop the presses!!) that Clinton should have dealt more severely with Yemen and al-qaeda over the Cole incident.
In my post, however, I was addressing the Clinton policy on Iraq. Clinton's and GHWB's Iraq policy insured that Iraq didn't have WMD. That's a fact of history now. GWB on the other hand guided us into a needless quagmire that history will judge harshly, IMO.
I want our country safe as well, but I also think it's reprehensible that 4500+ for a war that didn't do a thing to make this country safer.
We helped al-qaeda spread to a country that it didn't inhabit. How is that making us safer?
Proof that history is being rewritten. FACT: They did find evidence of WMD. It was reported in a very small blurb that I wish now I would have kept a copy of. They found evidence of chemicals to be used for mass destruction. They have satallite evidence of many trucks leaving Iraq for Iran. Many believed they took the WMD out that way. But Iran has no intention of anyone checking them out.
You can rewrite history along with the others if it makes you feel better. But our country was and IS still in danger of another 9/11. How quickly many forget.
We can not trust the Middle East as they lie to the westerns repeatedly and don't feel a bit guilty about it. Most of them consider us as infidels, which to them means they owe us no respect and will gladly tell you whatever they think you want to hear.

I miss President Bush. We regret giving the Democrats the checkbook 2 years ago. I was hoping to see us leave the middle east conflict with our troups as promised. I am probably the only person on this board that has proudly served America as a conscientius objector. I hear our death rates are now the highest in 8 years. Bush Has Widened Authority of C.I.A. to Kill Terrorists

The Bush administration has prepared a list of terrorist leaders the Central Intelligence Agency is authorized to kill, if capture is impractical and civilian casualties can be minimized, senior military and intelligence officials said.
The previously undisclosed C.I.A. list includes key Qaeda leaders like Osama bin Laden and his chief deputy, Ayman al-Zawahiri, as well as other principal figures from Al Qaeda and affiliated terrorist groups, the officials said. The names of about two dozen terrorist leaders have recently been on the lethal-force list, officials said. "It's the worst of the worst," an official said.
President Bush has provided written legal authority to the C.I.A. to hunt down and kill the terrorists without seeking further approval each time the agency is about to stage an operation. Some officials said the terrorist list was known as the "high-value target list." A spokesman for the White House declined to discuss the list or issues involving the use of lethal force against terrorists. A spokesman for the C.I.A. also declined to comment on the list.

The program being discussed now is a "still-unidentified program" if you'd read the article. Considering the fact that Cheney didn't even want Congress briefed on the CIA program that is now being discussed, do you really believe they leaked the details to the newspapers in 2002 ?
