We are so excited about being able to experience and be a part of the Youth next week... can hardly wait.

In many pentecostal churches that I have been to that are not UPC, the "Falling Out" occurs all of the time with everyone at the altar. They have attendants there to help with the "fallees"...so when sherri is comparing, she is actually comparing to other pentecostal churches more like her own and NOT the UPC. Yes, we do get "slain in the Spirit" but not in numbers and style of more "Vinyard" type of church....my two cents

I agree with you... I'm attending a church that doesn’t have the influence of UPC and one thing I have learned is every movement has its own culture mixed in with a heartfelt desire to worship God.
I totally understand what Sherri was saying…. a sovereign move of God will effect you in some way… and to see small children responding to the moving of the Holy Ghost without seeing a set pattern before them is an awesome thing to see.

Can't wait for you to get here; it'll be awesome. Lots of prayer going up for the youth camp next week.

Just got in and that skinny little kid loved his weight set! LOL! He was waiting like an eager beaver to receive them. Now, my son is missing more things since he moved out!
Thank you, Sherri! I'm quite sure there are times that I don't express myself very well - at all! lol
I accept your sincere apology and I offer one to you for misunderstanding what you were saying. You are a great person - at least from what I've seen on-line! LOL! Love you, Sherri!

Love you too! I've been sad today trying to think back over things I've posted and wonder where I've messed up. I promise I'll be more aware of what I say from now on. Sometimes we all get misunderstood on here - that happens easily when we can't see faces and all we can see is words. Sometimes they come across wrong. Anyway, no hard feelings.

PO - - I'm glad he did too because you were very unfair to Sherri. What MM said was exactly what she was meaning. Sherri has been away from UPC for a long time and in no way was comparing it to UPC.
I was really surprised to read your post.
We aren't all bitter and hate UPC. I would think you would have figured that out from Sherri after all these years. She's very respectful of her past.
I"m just not catching up on this thread - sorry I just had to say what I felt too.

Sherri,
Yes, we do get misunderstood here and quite often!! If I misunderstood you, then you did nothing wrong. I understand what you said better after MonkeyMan explained it to me.
I'm sure it's just me and how I get a little touchy sometimes when the UPC bashing goes through thread cycles. I probably do that because I see some things that can and should be fixed, but I also see a whole lot of good. That's one reason I don't speak of the negative things or relate some of my woe-is-me stories, although, I think I might have shared a few to explain a point. Another reason is because of the things we have been through and God speaks to me and my husband saying, "Stay where you are. I am building a church". It just gets to me when people criticize something that God brought me into and tells me to stay put. I'm not referring to what you said, at this point, just sharing as we have cleared up our matter here.
I've been through a lot of things, seen a lot of things, but in the midst of it all - God has shown me His love and power - Psalm 93 is one that I could frame as He uses this Psalm, from time to time, to remind me of what I do know in the midst of confusion and fear!
My mother has been researching and writing about the Catholic Church for years! She absolutely can't stand the Catholic Church! When she brings that up to me, I am quick to tell her that the Catholic Church gave me an awareness of God and even though I thought Jesus and God were two separate entities, I still fell in love with Jesus. I wanted to know Him like Moses did at the burning bush in the movie, The Ten Commandments. (lol) When I stepped into a UPC church at 25 years old, I saw the preacher's wife dancing before the Lord. It was the first time in my life I was sure that God was that real and touchable.
I'm very sorry that I made you feel sad today. I certainly didn't want to do that. We can all get touchy about things given it's such a place for opposing views and decided opinons. So, if you are working on being careful with what you say, I certainly need to do the same and take a chill pill on the, perceived, UPC bashing. I will try to do better as well.
Well, I'm off for a couple of weeks to entertain company, perhaps, I will come back and turn a new leaf! Renda, no comments from you! lol!

Sherri and I have already worked this out, but thanks for your input. If I had saved some of the posts, even from, NFCF, you would have a better handle on what I was talking about - but who wants to do that? I didn't because I don't want to. It doesn't really matter at the end of the day.
