I have jousted with many who defended Benny Sinner, and the rest of the God chasers in the past on these forums. Lifestyles of the rich and famous, is what the Charismatics head for. That's why they take up 3 to 7 offering during their services.

No exaggeration, the so called inner holiness without outer holiness is just a simple case of contradictions in motion. We have a large group down here who go to Calvary Chapel. They have beach blanket ministries, maybe while you are visiting you can join them. Flip flops, bikini shorts, large chart Bible studies, and a six pack of kombucha. Inner separation creates outer separation.

You see it is interesting that all Christian religious groups all use the same scriptures yet with different results. Jesus loved the way the pharisees looked, but hated how they behaved. For thousands of years clothes were gender specific, and rank sinners understand that much. Yet, it is the Christians who have the biggest problems separating from the society and culture around them. When you come down here a take your little boat ride around our canals, you will get an eyeful of our inhabitants. Down here you can tell a holiness man from the rest of the crew, we are the ones with our clothes on.

If you got your "holiness" without any outer change then you didn't get it from Jesus Christ. I have friends who are Hindus, Buddhist, and Muslims who are sweet, gentle, and giving people, yet they are not Christians, nor to they believe Jesus is God. I also have relatives who are Jews and Atheists are just as nice kind as any inner holiness and righteous believers. One of my friends who is a conservative Rabbi told me this a couple of months ago, after I asked him why he doesn't always wear his kipa. He told me that wearing the kipa means that he is part of a greater community, and he would never want to bring a reproach upon that community. You see when i'm studying with my Rabbi friend he gets upset when he cannot prove certain beliefs of his from just using the Torah. So, by him not wearing his kipa he is not showing that he is a Jew. The inner holiness crowd tend to pull the same behavior, they can walk in and out of their roles with ease. When someone is dressed a specific way they get a different reaction. My Muslim friends were their attire on Friday and visit me when I'm sitting at the café, and have tea with me.
It is interesting to see people react. Outer attire comes from your inner cleansing. Again, Jesus had no problem with how the Rabbis were dressed, he had a problem with the way they behaved.

We have Bible studies with Eastern Greek Orthodox Christians, they are heavily involved in their tradition. A tradition that has nothing to do with attire. Two individuals who we know use to be Charismatic and converted to Orthodox Christianity. My wife (who was raised in Greek Orthodoxy) asked me how could that happen? I told her that people become religious Charismatics, Pentecostals, Baptists, Mormons, Greek Orthodox, Catholic, Rabbinical Jews and Muslims, because being in a religion doesn't require any change. You can dress them up, send them to church and they still kill the people. My father was an Atheist, and a good atheist, he loved his children and showed us that he loved us. He was friend, and it hurt when he died. My father and mother looked at Christians with utter amazement, on how Christians were mostly talk. They used a different term that I cannot use here. You see the Christians wether they are ultra or liberal, fail to meet the expectation of the sinners who watch them, and sadly these sinners had bad experineces in business dealings with them. Being a Christian means more than just the glazed over Stepford wife look. It should show from the inside out.

No, if you would of read and considered what I posted, I was pointing out that your mistaken idea that standards are extra-Biblical stuff, is the same as Presbyterian Seminary students saying talking in tongues is extra-Biblical stuff. I also brought up Xmas, because a great majority of the inner holiness crew who rail against standards being extra-Biblical stuff, also claim Xmas, as being a Christian sacrament. How can anyone say standards are extra-Biblical stuff with a straight face, when they themselves are wearing a wedding band, and put up a pine tree decked with jewelry. How about a little consistency?

Why don't you come down during Xmas, the Homosexuals and Lesbians have a big celebration, and boat show, the can tow your little boat behind one of their pontoon boat.

Hey, they don't have the dough the Charismatics have, they were most likely digging for change, dollar bills, and that takes time to collect all of that.
Anyway...
THE UPCI ROCKS

Re: The UPC is a dying movement!
You know whats amazing about this................all of you who think the UPCI is dying/irrelevent or whatever cannot seem to get enough about this type of stuff........;;Personally if I think something is dying/irrelevant I don't want to spend time looking at it from every angle, upside down and sideways.......If it's really as moot as you claim it to be then why can't you leave it alone and forget about it.........You folks are amazing...you really are.....If it's behind the times why can't you FORGET ABOUT IT AND GET ON WITH SOMETHING YOU DO BELIEVE IS RELEVEANT AND ALIVE......
