The docs removed his feeding tube since he passed his swallow test. But they are suggesting he go to a skilled care facility for a while to get strength. Yesterday, it took 3 people just to get him to stand at the side of the bed.
The problem is, he's on Virginia medicaid, which will only pay for 20 days there.
I have a feeling that it'll take longer, if he's able to go home at all.
But for now, he's still in the hospital but out of ICU. He'll be there at least a couple more days, perhaps til Monday, but it's slow going.
My mom was looking forward to her vacation. Now she's looking forward to going home!
