Not disagreeing with that. The difference, though, may be, re-affirming a doctrinal stance is not akin to re-affirming a stance on adultery. I do see some difference.
All too often we talk about how great message someone preaches and not how great of a person they are. That leaves the impression that the ability is greater than the person.
