With television we have a negative against Televangelism in this country. People have a major distrust of Televangelism, and it is the brunt of mockery. No, you grow up! Stop defending a man who isn't even close to preaching anything even remote to the Truth. I wasn't raised in Apostolic Pentecost, and had the luxury of hearing Apostolic One God Truth preached. I came out of the world, and know hippy philosophy when I hear it. Is that where you are headed? Does Erwin Raphael McManus' philosophical postmodern mantra mesmerize you? Are you taken away by his retro 1960s coffee house flair?
Sounds like you haven't been in a Holy Ghost service for a while.
Erwin McManus, reads like the Swami Vivekananda. No, kidding, read some of his material it reminds me of the Swami Vivekananda. Every person being called to an awakening to who they are? How about Jesus is trying to awaken us to who He is. Erwin's dirty feet are to blend him into our confused culture, but his message dates back to the Hindu Vedic writings.
Be careful what well you drink from, it might be full of wigglers.

He does not need me to defend him...his ministry speaks for itself. I do know that he preaches Jesus...and i believe Jesus is the truth. I know that he preaches and practices...feeding the hungry, clothing the naked, helping the poor...and i do think those are elements of true religion.
regarding fornicating preachers and the homosexual closet....do you think that simply because the UPCI is not on tv that it has avoided these? they are alive and well...not because of tv...but because we fallen creatures. As for mockery...you honestly believe the world doesn't mock belief systems that preach & propagate a message that says a woman's hair length, going to a bowling ally, wearing the color red, playing checkers, wearing shorts(any length), etc...and that these things have eternal weight that could prevent a person from having a relationship with their loving Creator? That my friend gets mocked just as much as Tammy Fay and her fake tears.
As for Hindu Vedic's...since some of these were written before our cannon was...and many N.T. writers speak of personal abandonment and the letting go of worldly things for a greater cause...how do you know they were not influenced by these writings? I believe even St.Paul quoted the Sages and poets.
