Wine was used in the Eucharist by all Protestant groups until an alternative arose in 1869. Methodist minister-turned-dentist Thomas Bramwell Welch applied new pasteurization techniques to stop the natural fermentation process of grape juice. Some Christians who were part of the growing temperance movement pressed for a switch from wine to grape juice, and the substitution spread quickly over much of the United States. (However, in such rites the beverage is usually still called "wine" in accordance with scriptural references.)[51] There remains an ongoing debate between some American Protestant denominations as to whether wine can and should be used for the Eucharist or allowed as a regular beverage.
The general use of wine is forbidden under Islamic law; it is only permitted for medicinal reasons. Iran used to have a thriving wine industry that disappeared after the Islamic Revolution in 1979.[52]

I have been in churches that used grape juice and churches that used wine (with alcohol). I don't have a problem either way. I had a (UPC) pastor who taught that if you used grape juice it wasn't really New Testament communion. He was Dist. Supt. of our state. He has said that if it isn't wine, it's not communion, it's just a drink of juice.
When I went to a Vineyard church, we used grape juice.
At the church where I go now (Hamilton Dream Center http://www.hamiltondreamcenter.org/) we use grape juice.

I don't drink alcohol
I don't know but I doubt it would be cheap

Apostolic is defined on AFF as:
- There is One God. This one God reveals Himself distinctly as Father, Son and Holy Ghost.
- The Son is God himself in a human form or "God manifested in the flesh" (1Tim 3:16)

- That Jesus name baptism is the only biblical mode of water baptism.
- That the Holy Ghost is for today and is received by faith with the initial evidence of speaking in tongues.

As Sam experienced, I too have had communion with wine and with grape juice.
I find it interesting the two camps generally have little tolerance for each other.

I ask this because there are those who say the wine Jesus made was actually water with a little wine mixed in to "purify" it.
I do realize Christ and his disciples lived before "Holiness Folk" came on the scene... so they may be held to another standard...
