Every thread, just like every conversation between people, takes a journey. But I understand that a discussion of sports has nothing to do with youth congress...but as I mentioned previously, indirectly, it could.
But anyway, maybe I will start a thread. Not a bad idea. I haven't started one yet and I don't even know how.
But if you knew my heart and my personality, you would know that I'm nothing CLOSE to critical. In 16 years, I've never preached a sermon that names the UPC or bashes it. Never.
But I'm surprised to hear the change in attitude concerning sports. The abolition of "All worldly sports and amusements" is still there as far as I know.
But I support your youth congress. Lord knows it was stuff that like that was the only sign of life I ever saw as a youngster.

Im not a UC by any stretch but I still don't believe in youth going to dances.

I understand your point of view. To start a new thread, you go to The Fellowship Hall, and under the sub forums you will find in the left hand corner New Thread, you click on that and it opens up. You place your subject and then post. Hope you figure it out and start a discussion about this.

Our church had one of the most succesful dances a couple years ago. Got half dozen people to church from it.
Had a 50's - 60's theme halloween party. Over 150 people showed up in 50-60's garb.

I understand that, Prax and agree. But they were all lumped together. Dancing, movies, organized sports.
