Went to the PAW Convention tonight!

So this is my second year going to the PAW convention. This year it was here in Atlanta and we had crazy church. I mean, we churched HARDDDDDDDDDDDDDDD. For a monday night, the Atlanta Civic Center was packed all the way to the ceiling. Tonight, Biship Noel Jones preached. Hit home on a lot of issues.

If your in the Atlanta area, meet your fellow Apostolic brothers and sisters at the Atlanta Civic Center, they'll be here the whole week. And come expecting to dance dance dance all night (lol)!

Could be Bishop's presence was the reason for the Monday night crowd...

It's been a while ago ... but I thought I read somewhere here that Bishop Noel Jones was having issues and leaving the PAW.

I'd love to go, but ATL is a little too far to travel.

Re: Went to the PAW Convention tonight!

Yes they have booths/vendors set up all over.

No, it was not because of Noel Jones that the crowd was large. It was because Atlanta is a very desirable city to have church conventions in especially for the east coast saints (cheap air fares).

The Church of Our Lord Jesus Christ had convocation here last summer and knocked out the entire Georgia World Congress Center. People came because it was Atlanta....no one wants a convention in a city that is boring.

Anywho, the Atlanta Civic Center only seats 4,600 people which is about the average amount of people that come to a PAW convention anyway (well usually close to 5,000).

What is your take on the PAW, the way some think, they are nothing but apostates, is that your take after being there?

That depends Keith, if one considers HAAARD churching a desireable thing.

I think I have witnessed it a time or two.

Re: Went to the PAW Convention tonight!

The PAW organization is divided. The only difference between them and other Apostolic organizations to me is that their rebelion is outward. There are mega PAW church's that refuse to teach standards in their pulpits yet hold to the Jesus Only doctrine (born of water and Spirit in order to get to heaven). The PAW is only doing what other mainstream organizations have done in their heart.

Its a regional thing with them. AFF talks about ultra cons, cons and libs, well the PAW has all of that and then some. I know PAW church's that still teach the doctrine of uncut hair (or grow your hair as long as you can grow it), there are PAW churches that teach heels and toes in and no earrings and no movies. Then on the flip side, there are church's that have everyone doing any and everything they want. The PAW has the "prosperity doctrine" craze running through it. I even believe there are some people who are PAW who feel that the baptism in Jesus Name is optional....I mean, its a buffet table, they pick and choose what they want to do based on the region they are in and their pastor.

With that said, last night, you had a little bit of everything under one roof. I do applaud them for trying to stay true to their Apostolic roots (i.e. mentioning over the pulpit last night how great and wonderful it is to be apostolic, a part of a Oneness movement and having the full truth) but in all honesty, the organization has just given up on making church's follow one set of regulations. They leave it up to the Pastor and thats that.

Did you know there are even PAW church's that cover their heads with prayer veils and dont believe in women Pastors. I mean, what ever belief you want, the PAW organization has it.

That being said, Horace Smith (there now presider) is really trying to get the organization to be a world leader in Christriandom by having work shops on how to effectively wins souls to Christ. Go to their site. They have an "Apostolic Manefesto" which basically is a call to go back to original holiness. It is what it is and thats my final thought. I tell you one thing, I rather worship under one roof with them than to worship with ANTI PENTECOSTALS any day.
