Wow....this IS a good reminder, isn't it?
Did you express your displeasure about all the just as hideous (and far more so) "jokes" made about Palin?

I have been away from the UPC for about 22 years. In the past week, I have logged onto this forum for personal reasons. I have to say that I am so thankful I got out when I did...

....and I LOVE the Richard Bach quote. I wouldn't mind adding that to my signature quotes.

I wasn't on the forum at the time but I expressed my disgust with David Letterman in the middle of an illustration in a sermon. Letterman has always been my favorite, but what he said about Palin was indefensible.

Look, I know what you're getting at. It really doesn't matter what my political leanings are but since you're dropping the insinuations, I've never voted for a Democrat in my life. But I have befriended many liberals and was very close to the son of a major liberal congressman. As it turns out, he was a human being just like I was.

No, I'm not dropping insinuations. I'm simply asking questions. I don't know you so I don't want to simply assume things and make knee jerk reactions.

Often times people are very politically driven and hold a double standard. My questions were to determine if that was the case with you or if the whole issue was simply a matter of humor and taste.

Seeing your responses Im ready to believe the latter is the case here.

For you to be so quick to assume the negative does however make me wonder about your spirit in this matter.

Yeah, Bach is a good writer. I enjoy his work. Here is another quote for you: "You are free to create and honor whatever past you choose, to heal and transform your present."

When you first questioned me using terms like "hissy fit" rather than traditional terms of dialogue such as, "Did you express your displeasure?", and followed it up with the Palin question, I'm sure you can see how I thought you were insinuating something.

You're welcome to "wonder" about my spirit. We're all asked to "try the spirits" so I have no problem with that.

I've heard of him and have seen a few quotes but I've never read him. I'll look for some stuff.

Re: My new cuss word

I like lables!

No, really I do! They keep me from eating peaches when I want to eat green beans.....err.... or vise versa....

What i have often found from those who hate labels is they believe in someting.... and thus have been labeled something.... that the majority doesn't like.

potted meat probably doesn't like labels either.... but I bet if you were to poll cans of pineapples they are all pretty happy with theirs! especially those rings. yummy !

That's cause IMO you had a hissy fit LOL
Not as bad as a hanky stompin hissy fit, but a hissy fit nonetheless.

To express displeasure, to me, would have been to say "I don't like that joke about drowning pelosi, I don't think it's funny." and left it there.

Now, it's perfectly within your rights to pitch a hissy fit, even a hanky stompin, denture loosin, cry to mamma, hissy fit, should you have chosen so.

Just as its acceptable for me to point out your hissy fit and ask questions about it.

I will say that from this brief encounter with you, You have convinced me that my first knee jerk impression of you was wrong. That makes me glad I asked questions first.
Apparently, you are not the politically driven, angry, fault finding, person with a double standard that at first I was wondering about.

Maybe you just have a very different sense of humor, or very little sense of humor. Maybe you are just a very serious person who does not enjoy most humor and cast the appearance of a slightly abrasive character?

I don't know, but I'm glad I looked deeper. I guess further interaction will help me learn even more.
