Question: (from Dr. Orrin Davinski) "If your wife or your daughter became seriously ill, and things were not going well, and the plan physicians told you they were doing everything that could be done, and you sought out opinions from some medical leaders in major centers and they said there’s another option you should pursue, but it was not covered in the plan, would you potentially sacrifice the health of your family for the greater good of insuring millions or would you do everything you possibly could as a father and husband to get the best health care and outcome for your family? "
President Obama DID answer, and that was where he brought in the issue of his grandmother.
Answer: " … does she get hip replacement surgery even though she was fragile enough that they weren’t sure how long she would last whether she could get through the surgery. I think families all across America are going through decisions like that all the time. and you’re absolutely right that if it’s my family member, my wife, if it’s my children, if it’s my grandmother, I always want them to get the very best care. but here’s the problem that we have in our current health care system. Is that there is a whole bunch of care that’s being provided that every study, every bit of evidence that we have indicates may not be making us healthier."
So, of course, even though he answered, he didn't actually answer the specific query, except to say that he wants them to get the "very best care." There wasn't "stony silence", or even any rudeness on the President's part.
I'm fine with discourse on this issue, but really...some fact checking is in order.

Thanks for posting the link MB. I think in essense Obama confirmed what everyone is saying, this plan he has is not good enough for his family and he would go searching for the best he could find. He did NOT say THIS plan he is proposing would do that, nor did he say it wouldn't. However, IF this plan was as good as he would like for us to believe he could have "lied" and said he believed this "plan" would be good enough for his family.
As to the pause, I think he seems to routinely do that, so I didn't see a big deal there, IF this is the same scenerio he was referring to in the email.
As I have stated before, I personally do not have time to track down and do research on all the information sent me, I share it with you and if you want to confirm it is legit or not, go for it. I wish I had the time, but right now I don't.
I love to do research, however, I have two major things I am currently working on that takes priority with my time. But I know there are many here with more time for researching and the brains to do it.
