It's not "if you eat more it comes down always to "what" you eat more of. Workout you need more water initially... which in the larger picture you need more of other things to compensate. Again not necessarily food, but a more healthy diet that gives you what you need which might be more or less in the end that you consume.
The article also said they have studied this idea of will power. It leads to one success followed by future failure.

there are certain biological erges related to caloric intake that cannot be short circuted.

the deal is, dont kill yourself working out to lose weight. do moderate exercise throughout the day, cut your calories, make solid choices in what you eat.

It was a great article.

LOL! ive lost 18 pounds since surgery. it led to some research on what I need to do.

I walk my office floor up to 5 times a day. One lap takes about 4 minutes.

another thing you can do is get a pedomiter. you can get a good one for less than 10 dollars. take 10k to 15k steps per day will do more for your health and weight than an hour a day in the gym!

I read a book called "reversing heart desiese" if my memory is right.

that book quoted a study of 10,000 people study that shows the following
sedintary people die at a rate of 50 per 1000 people. people who walk 30 minutes 4 times per week die at a rate of 24 per 1000. people who have a very high rate of exercise (Marathon training) die at a rate of 19 per 1000.

Sedintary people die but just becoming ACTIVE cuts the chance of death in half, but at the same time there is little statistical difference between walking moderately and training for a marathon!

I recall a longitudinal study that reflected 1,000 of 1,000 died. I will go with your numbers. I may RUN down to Sonic and order a chilicheeseburger.

(we call them triple bypass burgers)

Re: Why Exercise ?

I don't know....why do 300lb women in blue denim skirts go to Mc Donalds and buy a BigMac, supersize fries and a large DIET soda? As if that is going to help?
