Good to see you post, EA. I know I'm not from the original group, but I've been here a while and appreciate (and miss) many of the posters that are no longer here.

Many people may not realize it, but AFF was my "haven" for about a year and a half. My wife was very, very sick and there were many evenings and nights that I would sit or lay beside her, posting on AFF as she slept.

Other times she would read along with me and we would laugh at some of the funnier threads. I know it sounds corny, but this place helped me maintain some semblance of sanity.

She is much better now, but some of the friendships I made during that time have become very precious to me.

DA, myself, and other strong mod-libs have gone quiet for the most part. why keep debating when they retreat to other forums like JP that ban us and then talk bad about us by name rather than having rational arguements? i would argue its the conservatives nastiness that chases us away or makes us take screen names.

Oh, by the way. I am sorry that this forum changed, in one way, for you guys. On the other hand, I am glad it is here and I hope both the far lefts, middles and rights all stick around! I am learning sooooo much!

By the way, I think Timmy is very valuable. He makes us think about why we believe what we believe instead of just believing what we have always believed. (Wow, long sentence! LOL)

This forum saved me from giving up on all Christianity a few months ago. I was about to crawl into a hole and forget trusting "Christians" because it didn't seem they believed in love at all. Thanks for being here for me.
