I don't know (or really want to say )...I'm just saying that in some cases, crimes are so deplorable and go on for so long, that I don't believe true justice is possible (especially in our legal system).
I guess it depends on why you feel we should "punish" and what the result should be.
Do we lock people up to rehabilitate them?
To protect others from them?
Because they deserve it?
Or is it revenge?
