Re: My Name is on www.wedeclare.org

There is not unity because light has no unity with darkness. At some point, people have to start defining what is light and what is dark.

Many of us think that when peopel decide they want to dress and act just like the sinners do, they are playing in the dark. Why would we not refuse to hold hands in unity with that sort of living?

Gal 5:20 Idolatry, witchcraft, hatred, variance, emulations, wrath, strife, seditions, heresies,
Gal 5:21 Envyings, murders, drunkenness, revellings, and such like: of the which I tell you before, as I have also told you in time past, that they which do such things shall not inherit the kingdom of God.

Gal 5:23 Meekness, temperance: against such there is no law.
Gal 5:24 And they that are Christ's have crucified the flesh with the affections and lusts.
Gal 5:25 If we live in the Spirit, let us also walk in the Spirit.
Gal 5:26 Let us not be desirous of vain glory, provoking one another, envying one another.

Wasn't that the intention of the original fundamental doctrine statement?
And wasn't it worded the way it was so that one-steppers and three-steppers could join together without doubting the "salvation" of one another?

And what was wrong with the original holiness statement of 1945?

I've asked this question numerous times and no one has ever answered it. Do you want to answer it?

How did Christians 100-200 years ago (think Little House on the Prairie) dress differently than the sinners around them? If it is NECESSARY for Christians to dress differently than sinners, how did they accomplish that?

If your point is that Christians shouldn't dress in immodest, revealing clothing, you would be correct. But many people who don't follow "the dress codes" don't dress in immodest, revealing clothing.

Modesty should be the clarion call, not "we gotta be different!"

DARKNESS has to do with SIN. Interesting that Galatians is the most familiar list of sins (works of the flesh) in the New Testament, yet in creating a document that everyone should sign and agree on, it was left out in favor of, "Just don't let your women cut their hair and wear jewelry, makeup or immodest clothing."

That is imbalanced.

That can't be answered because they didn't. As stated so many times, holiness is not in how women dress.

You are so nice. I'd have said ignorant. It's a good thing I didn't.

And I thinkyou know very well that no one is substituting anything. The list in Galatians is preached against plenty. You are trying to defelct. No one is saying someone can live in those sins all they want as long as they "look the part". You know that.

And how does one dress differnt or like a sinner? Easy. Have you looked at how trashy and sickening people in the world dress? Pretty easy to say since you are suppsoed to be a Christian....dress contrary to them.

People are being different just for the sake of being different. That is incorrect motivation, and leads to pride, hypocrisy, a departure from scriptural principle, and ultimately, confusion.

We're supposed to obey the Word. And IF and WHEN that causes us to stand out from the world, (which it often will), then we are not to be FEARFUL of that difference. That doesn't mean we pursue difference just so we will stand out from the world. The motivation has to be an adherence to the Word, and not just preservation of a certain "look."

I've noticed some very important and prominent names missing from www.wedeclare.org. That is ALSO very telling and revealing, and we would all do well to take note of who, in leadership, did NOT sign the document.
