Funny.

Well, since I was just joking and have stated that, I'll not worry about it anymore. Many that posted on the past forums knew that we argued with him, so it's no big deal to me.

Re: Mark Bassett Leaves the UPC?
His leaving must be a fairly recent occurrence, since he's listed in the '09 directory.

Re: Mark Bassett Leaves the UPC?
When I met Mark Bassett a few years ago... I was pleasantly surprised. My preconceived notion that he was a hardcore ultra-con with no sense of humor was quickly dispelled. He took a day off to be with us after our impromptu appearance at church, and even took us to NYC.
He seemed to be a genuinely nice man and certainly not hardcore conservative as I had thought.

As with many people on forums... particularly the ones we each might see as someone we don't get along with... Mark is a pleasant individual on a personal basis.
Of course I have never met him face to face but we have had an online acquaintance for a number of years and he is an enjoyable person to visit with.

Re: Mark Bassett Leaves the UPC?
I have met him face to face, and did "tangle" quite a few times with him on the forum. He was very intelligent, but really needed some help in the interpersonal communication department.
Don't miss his abrassiveness....not even remotely! LOL

Re: Mark Bassett Leaves the UPC?
If MB has left the UPC has he joined the Worldwide Wrestling Pentecostal Fellowship? As has been mentioned by others if in fact he has left the UPC as it appears he has I am very shocked.
For many years he was the chief apologist for any and all UPC actions, positions, etc on the predeccesors of this forum (FCF and NFCF).
Although we disagreed about almost everything and crossed swords a lot on those forums we always had very cordial private communications both by PM and by telephone.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.
"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.
"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."

From what I have understood, he has not joined any fellowship/organization. May the Lord bless MB in all he does for the kingdom!

Re: Mark Bassett Leaves the UPC?
I cringed at some of the posts by WWOD, but never had a personal problem with him. Our personal communication was pleasant.
