Never once did I find a guilty criminal who would tell you they were guilty. That doesn’t mean they were unwilling to talk about their crime. In fact they either would explain in great detail why they were forced into the act, most often by the person they harmed, or they would explain to you that they were innocent and being persecuted by the legal system for a crime they did not commit.

In 16 months, I never once heard “the horse’s mouth” tell me they were guilty and deserving of the judgment against them.

Further, our legal system provides a great path to gaining the truth. Among those however, there is a conspicuous absence. That being the proverbial “horses mouth”. If the “horses mouth” were a real source of factual information, there wouldn’t be a single person in prison today. Each trial would start with the Horse On The Stand, they would say they were innocent and the trial would be over.

I submit to all concerned that going to the “horses mouth” not be considered in situations like this. However, as the bible instructs seek “Wise Council”

I believe that has been provided.

Yes, well, like Sis. Alvear said, you can join and go on for years and years and years and THEN discover the answer you were looking for. Then you have to leave, you are told you will go to hell, you will not be allowed to ever contact all the people you love again, you may not be able to contact any family members you have there either.

Now, the "horses mouth" claims that people can leave without all this happening. Maybe ask them how many families have left after becoming members that they feel "found a greater light" as they require.

Ask them if you can see the big book that people have to sign their name around 100 places in to get baptized or take communion (each time you take communion).

yisraelm believes the way he combs his hair is a holiness standard. I'm not sure that he wouldn't fit in.

Oh, he actually might. They may see that he has a greater light and then it will become the new pattern for everyone to follow.

If you love being "dominated and lead around by the nose" go ahead and jump right on in. Words that I heard describing the leadership, just today.
We have some ex-HH-ers where I go to church. It is something to behold the bondage coming off them.

Exactly. I lived for many years in Texas near them. I lived in Austin when they were there before they started their "community".

Control is the key word with these folks. Everybody who visits their nice little community thinks they are seeing an ideal way of life but the truth is much darker.

I have witnessed first hand the cult like control the leadership has on its members and heard second hand (worked with a lady who had gone to church with Blair and the others before they started their own "thang") a lot of stories about them. If you don't toe the line they are big on excommunication. Oh, and if you don't get excommunicated chances are at some point you will be humilated before the church confessing non existent sins, etc.

"We did not wear uniforms. The lady workers dressed in the current fashions of the day, ...silks...satins...jewels or whatever they happened to possess. They were very smartly turned out, so that they made an impressive appearance on the streets where a large part of our work was conducted in the early years.

"It was not until long after, when former Holiness preachers had become part of us, that strict plainness of dress began to be taught.

"Although Entire Sanctification was preached at the beginning of the Movement, it was from a Wesleyan viewpoint, and had in it very little of the later Holiness Movement characteristics. Nothing was ever said about apparel, for everyone was so taken up with the Lord that mode of dress seemingly never occurred to any of us."
