Loaning to the Lord!

This Scripture says:

Pro 19:17 He that hath pity upon the poor lendeth unto the LORD; and that which he hath given will he pay him again.

What a One to lend to! HE always pays His debts! Just by being merciful to the poor!

I have this note in my Bible at Provers 19:17

"If you help a poor person in the name of the Lord, you are making a gift and at the same time granting a loan. You are making a gift because you have no expectation of being reimbursed by that poor person. You are granting a loan because the Lord will settle the account." St. Basil the Great (329-379)

I just thought it was a great verse as to how God will never owe us anything we give for Him or in His cause!
