I've questioned if we are going against the nature of a women with the no adornment position. My small daughter wants to dress pretty and stuff. She someone asked about polish or something, she said something about girls wanting to be pretty. Maybe this why those scriptures about adornment only address women keeping them focus on true internal adornment.

I believe it does. My daughter did her nails - and then a few days later, she said - "Why is it that I feel so much more like a girl when I have my nails done?"
It is a woman's nature to fix herself up, and I think we go against God's design when we condemn it.

LOL.
Thankfully, that's not my husband's nature. He's not the rowdy type. He's more of the 'I'm going to go out in my workshop and build something' type.

I wasn't raised Pentecostal and so I have been on the other side of adornment. As much as we want some to stop condemning outward adornment, I was sick of the world pushing it on me.
I know what it's like to never go out without my lip liner, always looking in the mirror when I passed by a mirror, dabbing under your eyes to make sure your mascara is not smeared, touching up the blush, never going out without my face on. Haircuts, hair dye, manicure, pedicure......
I was selling Lancome, on a part-time basis and was working the floor alone one night. I remember walking up to one of the full length mirrors and began to smear all of my makeup while saying, "I am so sick of looking at your face!" I then went back to my area, took it all off and remade myself. The pressure of all of that can be very overwhelming and tiring.
So, on the same token, I'm sick of the world making a women feel that she is unattractive if she doesn't fix up according to the world's standards. Who are they to say what we need to look like? Look like what? Something you don't look like when you take it off. I used to sleep without taking off my mascara because I didn't want to have my normal face. Sheesh! And the men that condone all of this, well, I can't say it in polite society. They are only adding to that pressure. Go grow some hair, get rid of the paunch and then come talk to us.

I don't think anyone should push it on you, and I don't think anyone should condemn you if you like it. Some girls/women love all the extras, some don't. Be yourself.

Well said, but, trust me, you're wasting your time w/ this bunch! They twist the Scriptures to their own destruction. But, you make some good points.
God bless....rdp.

Just as much as when they preach it is sin to have facial hair on a man. We go against the nature of man that God created in us to go around preaching you can't have a beard or mustache, or your hair must be off the ears etc.
It is very simple realy Paul and Peter were saying that we are to understand that our holiness does "not" come from the clothes we put on or the external things we use to try and make ourselves feel better about ourselves. But from the hidden man of the heart. This by no means says it is sin to put on Gold. But then some will not see what is right before their eyes till God himself come down and shows them. But thats ok Because.
stumbleth, or is offended, or is made weak.
Rom 14:22 Hast thou faith? have it to thyself before God. Happy is he that condemneth not himself in that thing which he alloweth.
Rom 14:23 And he that doubteth is damned if he eat, because he eateth not of faith: for whatsoever is not of faith is sin.
As long as they see these things as sin they are sin to them.
