Audio/Video tech question
We would like to put our sermons on line on our website.
Anyone with any experience have any suggestions as to what kind of equipment is needed to do a quality video.
What kinds of cost shoud I expect?
How much webspace will be needed to archive each 45 minute sermon?

Re: Audio/Video tech question
We use a JVC HD camcorder that I picked up at Best Buy. I think I paid $300 for it. I download the video files to my Mac, convert them to DV with VisualHub and then edit them with Final Cut Express. Then I export to a .flv file and upload to our web host, Lunarpages. Our web site hosting costs us $6.00/mo with basically unlimited band width and disk space. I haven't eve come close to maxing out our allotted space yet have a few full length videos on our web site.

We use a Flip HD camcorder (available at Best Buy or even Walmart). It plugs directly into the USB port where the video files can be dragged to the PC. From there they can be easily converted to a Flash file (.FLV) and a link created on the website direct to the file.

Putting up mp3 sermons is even easier, theres a freeware program called "Audacity" on sourceforge that you can download and just run it right into your microphone jack of your laptop or desktop. takes about 2 minutes to get rolling. Just start a record about 15 mins before the service, and let it roll till whenever and then later do a quick edit and you can either put your entire church service up there or just the preaching, that way you can go digital and be free of tapes or CDs.

We'd like to do this as well. Any more options? I design and update our website. How do I add the player to my page?

You referring to audio or video? There are several easy ways to do it, either with embedded code for Windows Media player or via a flash plugin. Are you wanting to do audio or video?
