And witches didn't originate with Disney. Try reading some of the original Grimm's Fairy Tales from way, way back (way before tv). They're horrifically evil and violent.

NO doubt Grimm had some bad stuff. My point is that for years I heard Apostolics talk about how great disney stuff was. How clean and wholesome it always was. Then someone at church pointed out all the witchcraft in it!

I wasn't attempting a hijack. Just saying I think TV is dangerous if not monitored and controlled.

From my seat in the house (lol) I am seeing a lot of changes taking place. Some have commented on some of the changes here.

So, for me, it's - follow the Will of God in your life, the path He has set for you - it's not over till it's over.

As long as we preach the message of salvation correctly - all the other stuff is not that big of a deal to me. Probably because our church is doing so well. I know when I was unhappy - I was unhappy about everything! That, IMO, makes the big difference.

I was sick of the pressure the world put on me as a woman - gotta do the make-up thing, gotta get that hair cut, styled and do not turn grey!, gotta do the unisex thing or you are not politically correct in this society!

I was picking up a paycheck at a place that I was a salesman - my last check. I asked a woman standing at the door if she was one of the salesmen for the company.

She promptly said, "Salesperson!"

I said, "Oh, I'm sorry. I don't have an identity problem." LOL!

Lord, I hated that change in terminology - from salesman to salesperson - from actress to actor. I hate unisex!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

There is more "witchcraft" in the land of narnia than there is in any disney cartoon. The important part of a story is its theme and I don't think the theme of any of these cartoons is about trying to get kids to practice "witchcraft"

I noticed church people using some of the words that Disney was bringing out - cr**, butt, etc. At least, IMO, I noticed it happening when I was aware that Disney was using these words more. I think things we read or listen to can subtly change some of our mannerisms and thought.

NO it wasn't the theme. It did however introduce the idea in many kids in a harmless, almost warm and kind, way. Mickey was a wizard's apprentice in Phantasia.

Today we see a vast multitude of peopel our age and in the following gen who are witch friendly and wicca fans. Now obvioulsy it wasn't just Disney's fault, but they played a big part in making it acceptable.

I don't agree with you here. The reason being, every movie my children watched and every book I read to them, they wanted to BE that character. I have made tons of costumes for them through the years! LOL! They have been everyone you can imagine!!!

If someone needs a costume - they know I have it! LOL!

I completely agree.

But, as a matter of fact, I wasn't even talking about the animated Disney stuff. I meant the older ones with real live people in them. 'Follow Me Boys', etc.

Narnia is all Christian symbolism.

I almost stood up and shouted in the movie when Aslan snapped back at the witch "Do not speak to me of the Law! and told her he was there when it was written! He represented CHrist. That was powerful.

I also loved the symbolism of him giving his life to die for all. And teared up a bit when he showed himself resurrected with the sun shinging around him standing in victory.
