You don't really read my posts very well. I stated (1)that there are those who really DO believe in one God, but don't believe it's a big enough deal to quibble over. Then there are those (2) who SAY they believe in 1 God when asked, but they can't really explain it, and usually fall back into classic trinitarian doctrines; AND there are (3)those who will tell you directly that they believe in three separate deities who work together--but are SEPARATE deities.
I'll let anyone believe in one God who wants to. I wouldn't play semantics on this issue just to prove a point.
I've met all three types. And I've met "oneness" people who are really "twoness." *shrug*
Why would it bother you to think there are trinitarians who believe in three Gods? I'm not bothered that there are trinitarians who really believe in 1....

I did NOT say that I haven't heard trinitarians say they believe in 3 Gods--I HAVE heard them say that, or something very similar. I'm just not going to try to relate the specific words when I don't really remember. I can tell you for a FACT that my FIL says specifically that there are three Gods, and that there will be three thrones in heaven with a God sitting on each one. He's an AoG preacher. And he's not the only one I've heard make similar statements.
You should probably figure out why that bugs you so much.

Something very similar? Hmmm.....
All I said was that I've never heard anyone who sees Jesus Christ as deity, say that there are three Gods. It seems like I should ask YOU why that bugs YOU so much!
So you're tell me that your father-in-law, who is an Assembly of God preacher, literally professes THREE THRONES occupied by THREE GODS? I'm surprised the AG tolerates that.
Herbert W. Armstrong who founded the Church of God (The Cleveland, Tenn group) was well-known for teaching three Gods. But he was never taken seriously by mainstream orthodox Christian belief and was seen by most as a dangerous heretic.
But seriously, if you're perceiving me to be "bugged" so much, I'll just move on. I thought we were having a civilized discussion. I'm not sure why you threw that at me. But for whatever I did that didn't settle well, I'm sorry.

Sorry, but HWA did not found the COG (Cleveland, TN). He founded what then was called the Worldwide Church of God, a non-Pentecostal group. The Cleveland based COG was founded by A J Tomlison.

It was actually called the "Radio Church of God" when he started it and didn't change to "Worldwide" until the late 60's. That's what I was referring to when I said "Church of God". There's a million different "Church of God's".
And I swung and missed on Cleveland. I got confused with 2 of the one million Church of God's! My apologies!

Abbi,
Just ran across this post at GNC. It's only part of it, but what is she saying here?
".... Then our Lord Jesus took human flesh and came down to us and told us the broader picture (which the Jewish people had not yet been ready to accept and understand):..."
Sounds like an eternal co-existence to me? I would have said, "Then our Lord took human flesh."

Re: Milk or Meat Sermons?
Milk sermons are for the infantile saints who just got saved, or never grew up spiritually although they had the opportunity to, due to the teachings required for growth present in their churches being ignored or absent. Many times they are offered meat and cannot get the message at all as it flies way over their heads. Meat is deeper things of God that only the mature can follow as they deal with spiritual issues that fleshly minds cannot relate to. See 1 Cor 2:7-16.
Many places only serve milk and many only serve meat, so SOMEONE in such churches receives nothing. It is a wise preacher who can deal out both servings and organize the teaching sessions accordingly for both groups.
