Dear Friends in the homeland:

Isaiah 12:2-6 Behold, God is my salvation; I will trust, and not be afraid: for the LORD JEHOVAH is my strength and my song; he also is become my salvation. 3 Therefore with joy shall ye draw water out of the wells of salvation. 4 And in that day shall ye say, Praise the LORD, call upon his name, declare his doings among the people, make mention that his name is exalted. 5 Sing unto the LORD; for he hath done excellent things: this is known in all the earth. 6 Cry out and shout, thou inhabitant of Zion: for great is the Holy One of Israel in the midst of thee.

I was sitting in the Novo Angulo church listening to the people testify. One lady, Sister Clarinda testified: I was given a grim diagnostic of cancer - today I am healed by the miracle working power of God, Sister Edivania said: I had spots on my lungs, today my tests say nothing is wrong with my lungs. Sister Be said: I was living under the power of witchcraft…running to and fro looking for deliverance and right here, Jesus set me free, Sister Patricia told how she had searched place after place looking for JESUS and how through this church she had found Him. Sister Cida told how she was Catholic for so many years and right here among this people she had found the one true living God

Sister Gloria told how she had been a chain smoker for over 40 years and how God had delivered her…on and on I listened to their beautiful testimonies …and then I heard the Lord say: Publish some of these testimonies in your newsletter…Tell of my works among the people of Brazil… It brings the song to my mind - the old hymn: God has done great things…Bless His Holy Name…

After traveling several thousand miles in the states, we are now traveling here in Brazil. This weekend we will be in our Regional Convention in the state of Minas Gerias and the following weekend in our convention in the state of Ceara...we have been so excited since returning to see and hear so many good things the Lord has done and is doing among us.

Last Saturday Brother Alvear preached Brother Ryan Thompson´s Special Anniversary Service. It was awesome to see what God has done in this area. While we were there with a group of our people, another one of our pastors took another group of our people in an opposite direction to a special youth service in the church in Murcie. We have one church in Murcie and two preaching points. Our people in this area have been on a 21 day fast.

In December we will be visiting the jungle work and dedicating the church in Barrio Branco where Arlei ministers and possibly laying the corner stone for a new church in another area.

Thanks to your giving, we were able to send money to the state of Bahia to roof the church there. Last month we had sent the down payment and this month we sent the rest...so very soon we should be able to dedicate that new church. We also were able to finish the little house we are building for Pastor John in Para.

I had a special blessing at new convert’s class just lately...after speaking about church history and the first church in Acts of the Apostles - a Baptist family, a Mormon family, and a Catholic family all asked to be baptized...God is good as He reveals His word to those that are hungry for truth.

We would like to thank all those that have sent care packages to us. Your sacrificial giving has brought many smiles to the faces of our people.

Traveling is very expensive here but we are doing our best to cut costs as much as possible. However, Brazil is a very expensive country to live in. Visitors often remark to me how expensive things are here. We are still praying for the Lord to provide a vehicle for us and I know He is already working on it! Our Father in Heaven has this call on our lives and our trust is in Him for the finances and the many needs of this enormous work.

This is the season that is called Thanksgiving and may I say that the Lord has truly blessed the work here in Brazil far beyond the expectations of this missionary. And for this we are so thankful that the Lord through you that has made this all possible. We have so many blessings and I hate to mention needs. However, it seems the Lord always reminds me with the thought:

But how will your friends know the needs if they are not told?

In Brazil you can look to the sky and see the brilliant Southern Cross...but unless we tell the people the story of the real meaning of the cross of Calvary they will CONTINUE in chains of idolatry and vain rituals. We are here to serve the people of Brazil and help them discover the love, grace and hope found only in Jesus Christ.

Thank you so much for being our partners in this great work.

Until He comes or calls

Rev Raul, Sis Janice, and all the Alvear Family
