House of Prayer

Mark 11:17 And he taught, saying unto them, Is it not written, My house shall be called of all nations the house of prayer? but ye have made it a den of thieves.

I had to go and search where was this written. And here it is.

Isa 56:7 Even them will I bring to my holy mountain, and make them joyful in my house of prayer: their burnt offerings and their sacrifices shall be accepted upon mine altar; for mine house shall be called an house of prayer for all people.

3 times I find it in scripture saying His House should/shall be called a house of prayer.

Knowing this do you feel the emphasis should be when we go to church, Prayer?

We know Jesus read the scroll when He went into the synagogue, but where did the rest of our singing, preaching, altar calls originate from?

Do you feel we are obeying the scriptures when we have more than prayer in His house?

You have prayer defined as "making a petition" and also to "worship".

2Ti 4:2 also says to "Preach the word; be instant in season, out of season; reprove, rebuke, exhort with all longsuffering and doctrine.

So, I believe the Word is saying we will do more than make a "supplication".

In the NT, "His house" is our body. (1 Corinthians 6:19)

Yes. We are obeying scriptures when we do other "things' with our body. The Apostle Paul gives us many instructions to carry out with our body.
