I have a good friend that went to the original meeting. He told me about it in detail and it wasn't a conspiracy theory. Mostly just the younger and progressive types who don't fit into their own districts getting together to network. It's not any type of preliminary leftwards split like the folks from the WWPF who did their yucky stuff with the mailing lists and all that to become bishops and big names in another org chart.

I understand where they are coming from since its hard to find folks to be open with to discuss the hard issues about culture that the UPC has lost ground on (unless you come on AFF to debate and discuss, which works for some, but not everyone).

Absolutely. The elders act like they want discussion, so you discuss and they seem understanding and eager to listen and get in-depth. The next conference, the same good elders are blasting you. If you talk to those outside the org, you're black listed. And now if you talk to others inside the org that you have things in common with, it's a major conspiracy theory. Eventually, everyone just has to think "say what you want" and move on with it.

I was in Vegas last week with a few guys for an unrelated conference. Unless they had a meeting when I went to the restroom it didn't happen.
