We're slightly bummed as this is our first Christmas to be away from family, but we'll make it.

Sinatra, you've done something very right in raising your youngest! Heifer International is a great organization. We've given to them many, many times!
Tomorrow, on Christmas EVe we will go to my brother's house for Christmas with my side of the family. We'll have a potluck, open gifts and then (new this year), my mom wants to play BINGO with all the grandkids. Everytime they get a BINGO, she's going to give them a lottery ticket. hehehe. Our kids range in age from 25 to 13 now, so none of them are little anymore. When Grandma asked what they wanted for Christmas, they all told her gift cards, gas cards or money. She's obliging. And that's why she feels the need to do the BINGO thing. Whatever....
Anyhow, that part starts at 3:00. Then we have to be at the church at 6:00 for Ensemble Practice for the service at 7:00. After that, it's home for the night.
We do our personal family Christmas thing on Christmas morning. Around noon Walt's brother Doug is coming out to our house. He is cooking Christmas dinner for us since I have a hard time getting around this year. T-Bone steaks, baked potatoes, Bob Evans rolls, salad, and Pumpkin Pie (which I will make tomorrow morning)

The last three years, someone has bought us goats and chickens through an organization similar to Heifer International. We're so excited to think some third world family will have food to eat!!

Yes, they are a great organization. Another thing that is so wonderful about this organization, is that the family that gets the animal, gives the first offspring of it to another family in the village. So, it is a gift that keeps on giving!! I love that.

Now, if I received a card saying they bought something in my name for Heifer International I'd probably cry for a couple days..............and not because I was touched, but HEIFER????? Really?

Renda, no one sees you as a heifer. If I were to see you as an animal, I think I'd probably imagine you to be a little lap dog, in fact. Actually, that'd be a good thread to start. Maybe I'll do that. LOL

Re: ~~~~Christmas Plans~~~~
The chicken enchiladas are prepared and ready to go into the oven at the appointed time...after resting a few minutes, I will prepare: the sausage for the sausage and cheese puffs, the taco seasoned ground beef for the taco salad, the cheese and chili for the nachos, and then I'm done.
For dessert, it's always the same, simple fare...
Christmas candies and cookies, mini cream puffs, none of which I made, and strawberry ice cream floats.
The floats are a tradition of sorts...when I first did it many years ago for my nieces and nephews, I told them, "Aunt Barb has a special dessert for you..." and they loved them.
It's just vanilla ice cream, Faygo red pop, and Redi Whip topping, but they think it's neat.
So now, even the grown folks want their 'special dessert.'

Re: ~~~~Christmas Plans~~~~
We're making brownies (I've attached some pics of my daughter licking the spoon). Right now as we wait on them to bake, my daughter is pursuing her love/hate relationship with the dog by alternately petting it and screaming at it in Spanish. Life is good
