Far cry from the newer pastor's idea that communion shouldn't be served because it isn't safe... if you eat "unworthily" you may die! (I'm not there anymore, BTW.)

I think these are both extremes, but I still miss footwashing... and communion.
Very extreme. And the "unworthily" is taken, totally, out of context. It is speaking of not remembering or honoring what Christ did on the Cross. That is what would make you "unworthy".

Some of the deepest feelings I have had are never expressed openly. Just too deep to cry, KWIM?

We have had a tremendous move of the Holy Ghost is many of the footwashing services.
Yeah, I think that's part of it, I am not a big crier, and when I do, it usually is at the strangest times! lol!

I don't get emotional either-and feel awkward too. I just go through the motions to get it over. Like washing dishes- Sorry if that offends anyone but I can totally relate to what De is saying here.

I'm not a big crier either. The only time I can come close to breaking down is when the pressure has been applied for so long, I can't take it anymore. That doesn't happen often, but when it does, I have a big meltdown.
