Be safe. Have fun. Find good food, and remember those of us less fortunate than you....

Re: Hi from Manila!!!
It's four o'clock on Sunday here in Davao City. We're in the airport, getting ready to fly back to Manila to spend the night there. The conference was over today, and I cried like a baby when we left the people. It was just too short! I loved them all!! There were about 30 or so young people there, and they did all the praise & worship. They were fantastic!!
I found out today that three of our pastors used to be UPC. I didn't know that until now. I asked them if they knew Gordon Mallory, but they didn't, or didn't understand what I was saying. Very nice people!
We had a great move of God at the conference. I think Eddie stretched their vision a lot, but it was a good stretching - to believe for great growth in the future. We have had churches here for nearly ten years, but had never been here personally. It was good to finally see the people in person that I had only seen in pictures all these years.
We're tired, but refreshed in our spirits. God is good!
They sang that song today about "You are great; You do miracles, so great. There is no one else like You." We had also sung it in Brazil with the Alvears (in Portugese) in that little poor church out in the sugar cane fields. Today I heard it in English and in Cebuyan Visayan. I kept thinking about how these people believe God is so great, and they have nothing. We take so much for granted!! God forgive me....

Re: Hi from Manila!!!
Sherri, You bring tears to by eyes reading this brief report. It brought back memories to me. I too heard them sing "you are great...." They love Don Moen, and the young people always ask, "you know Hillsong?" LOL. They are very sweet people. It is so challenging to see the people who have nothing worship God as if they had everything!
I spoke with my friends there this morning, 13 hours time difference, on Skype. They are planning on going to Davao tomorrow for the first time and are excited about the trip.
We also have a new pastor joining our little group from the Island of Bohol. It is thrilling to see people who are ready for revival!
I can't wait to hear your full report when you get back and are rested.

Re: Hi from Manila!!!
I went to Davao City/Manila with IYC back a hundred years ago and had a Filipino young preacher propose to me while I was there -- he painted me a picture that I still have.
It would be interesting to know if he is still involved in the ministry over there.
The crusades that we held while there were unreal! They really know how to seek after the Lord!
