For the last 2 nights we have had huge windstorms come up thru the Valley. This is pretty normal as we get a good windstorm or two every year.
But for some reason, this year, my 18-year old daughter decides to freak out about them.
The first night the windstorm knocked out our electricity, so we're scrambling to find flashlights, and the only one we can find is a little rechargeable one we got for Christmas that lasted about 2 minutes. My daughter, the smart one, uses her cell phone to light the way to find a couple of candles, which have somehow become a rarity in my house!
My 16-year old son was in the shower, and for some reason, when the lights went out, he came out, grabbed the ONLY lighter in the house, and got back in the shower to rinse off soap/shampoo. WHY he did that, we have NO IDEA!!! So we're banging on the bathroom door telling him to give us the lighter, and he says he can't, it's too dark! Gggrrrr!!!
So we get the lighter, light a couple candles, find an oil lamp, get it lit, and in the midst of all of that, my daughter disappears. When I go to search her out, I find her in her room bawling! She's afraid of the windstorm!!!
She actually has good reason to be as we have two 100-year old Maple trees that sit about 20 feet from our house, and tower over 2 of the bedrooms. Hers is at the other end of the house, so she made us all go back to her room so we wouldn't be crushed by falling trees! LOL! Needless to say, I did NOT sleep well last night at all!
