This is kind of where I'm finding myself. The passion is contagious. And God has changed me. Period. Whatever you wanna say about the movement, I don't care. My God has changed me..He's put a fire in my heart, a passion in my life, a burning need to share His love with other people and a boldness to do so with intense compassion.
And..this is coming from someone who a few weeks ago was a huge skeptic of the movement. WOW...God....

When I said "discipleship" I meant it in the sense of using a lot of social coercion to get converts to line up with the church's teachings.
I have no idea what IHOP does today, but Bickle was a part of a group that went a bit too far. I wouldn't say they were a cult like some did, but the pressure to conform and all was paramount.

I have said I think Bickle got off before. I know that in at least some areas he has renounced things that were manifest during his earlier days. Having said that I will say this.
Im watching whats happening in the prayer room night after night and I dont remember hearing the name Mike Bickle mentioned once! I dont think its about him so much. He apparently has been the catalyst but it seems to be moving with or without him.
Discipleship is something I have always sought among the Churches. Its been pretty rare in my generation. By it I mean forsaking all to follow Jesus Christ. Thats what Im seeing here that is so impressive.

I wonder about the logistics of it all. There seems to be always at least a half a dozen people on the platform there at all times. I haven't really taken roll - LOL. But just from my own experiences in the past, this kind of effort would almost necessitate having a large number of people on staff just to fill these roles and to coordinate.

Re: IHOP Baptizing in Jesus Name
I am a couple hrs from IHOP. I have heard some good things about them in the past, and I must say I like alot of the praise and Worship stuff they do in those web casts.
I gotta say though, the jerking creeps me out. I can handle an incident or two like that, but when it becomes sort of commonplace I start thinking they are being conditioned...
