It was so funny. The pastor's wife was visibly wincing with every incorrect usage. He's a smart guy, so that made his mix up even funnier.
We had pastor friends here the other night and he had just come back from board meetings in Hazelwood. He was recounting some of the discussion and he kept using 'perception/conception interchangeably. Funny thing was, he was using both words wrong .... and it was just driving me nuts. LOL!

It was bad enough he was using them wrong .... but the repetition was really hard on the head.

Re: Grammar!

I'll never forget my fifth grade teacher......

Q: "Can I go to the bathroom?"

A: "I don't know, can you?"

She wanted "may" as in " do I have permission to" , rather than "can" as in "am I able to" . Thirty years later I NEVER mix those two up!

Whether is a conjunction and rather is an adverb, and they are not interchangeable.

I was at the SBUX my daughter works at yesterday and she was taking a drive-thru order on the headset. She kept saying "one moment" and switching off the headset and cracking up. She finally composed herself and stated what the Frappuccino options were on the menu and took the order. The guy had wanted to order a "biscotti Frappy"....
