Well, Aquila, I don't really see the point of thinking of angels. If I focus on the author and finisher of my faith, I can stay more balanced in the gifts than opening myself up to "mysticism".

Perhaps it's just my Catholic background with all the statues, medals and angels. I don't have one angel in my house and if someone gives me one, I give it away. I just have a thing about that. I always have.

Here's the fundamental problem here. You have people who don't know trying to tell everyone else that they can't know either. In other words, your spirituality relegates all to the same level of ignorance that you're current at. If someone has additional insight... it becomes an insult to you... because it wasn't yours. A real big problem in Pentecost.

Before one can be a teacher... they have to be willing to learn.

And for the record... I do know the answer to those questions. I've dealt with enough evil spirits in my time to know. There's even a person on this forum who was with me one evening when a spirit seized her daughter.

The author and finisher of your faith is the foundation of your SALVATION.

However, there is much more to this battle than merely salvation. You'll find angels featured throughout Scripture. Clearly they are important, but not to be worshiped.

Here's the fundamental problem Aquila. It's not that we want to shut up such knowledge, it's that we aren't convinced that one man alone has anything more to offer than an opinion about such things. I think that if I found 10 people who claimed to know those things they would all disagree with you. Someones gotta be wrong about those things Aquila, why should we have faith that it isn't you?

It's not insulting to me that someone would know such things and not me.

Of course they are. They ministered in very important circumstances. That doesn't mean we should focus on them.

In Acts 12:4-9, Peter is in prison. The scriptures say that prayer was made and an angel arrived to set him free. No one was focusing on angels.

Another example, although an angel was not involved, would be Paul and Silas in Acts 16:25 "And at midnight Paul and Silas prayed, and sang praises unto God: and the prisoners heard them." They were not focusing on anything but God.

I don't see instructions in the Bible to do anything except "Looking unto Jesus the author and finisher of our faith;..." Hebrews 12:2.

Don't you consider that truths are so dynamic that there is more than one side to them? One brother might have additional insight the same topic that I don't have.

Okay, I have two coloring books. Forgot about the Precious Moments coloring books. LOL! All the other pictures are so cute! I guess I better tear out those angels. LOL!

There are periods in which focus is necessary. But I agree with you, there are more topics to be covered than just angels. I think if you researched the majority of my posts the vast majority aren't about angels. But I do have a lot to say about them.

And when you come to a fundamental disagreement about how those things work? What then?
