How did "denomination" become a bad word?

I couldn't reference a certain Bible Translation in a post on this or one of the forums because it had a certain 4 letter combination between "Pe" and "ta".

Aren't half brothers and half sisters part of the family?
Don't they share a common parent with one another?
Would that qualify them for Heaven or for the Rapture?

Also, is an unborn child who has been conceived a brother or sister?
