Well yes, Type 2.
But it seems like diabetes is always associated with being obese and that isn't always the case.
So even if you 'eat right and are healthy', it won't get rid of diabetes completely.

Studies have proven, children who become obese and don't exercise can bring on type 2 diabetes before they reach their 20's, which has become part of this health epidemic.
Also, I have a very good freind who is a "3-4 Shots a day" diabetic. He emphatically told me, "If I get fat, I'm in trouble." Becoming obese not only escalates the diabetic condition, it can bring premature damage to vital organs and early death.
The broad range of health risks associated with being obese are known and proven, and our Country has a serious problem.
Not sure if you had a chance to watch the video I posted earlier on, but please take the time to watch it. It's short and well done.
God Bless.

As do I have a very good friend who has Type 1. My best friend actually and he was fat. He was and still is perfectly fine.
You can be fat and be healthy. I think people forget that as well.
And no, he wasn't fat because he had diabetes. The medicine he was put on put on weight that was hard to take off.

Sorry but fat and over weight is never healthy. And I have heard the "they are on medicine that made it hard to take off the weight" before. We are a druged society. Go back in history, what did people do before drugs?

I'm overweight and I'm completely healthy.
The only 'problem' there is is that I need to lose ten pounds.
Seriously. If you're going to say that being fat and overweight isn't healthy, then you need to realize that being 92 pounds when you're 5'10 isn't healthy either.

Just curious, did you watch the Newscast by Katie Couric? The problem of obesity in this Country is not fabricated or made up.
I do agree, overly skinny people can have health problems, but that's not really the focus of this thread.
Discussing this issue can be uncomfortable, but we must address it in a respectable and civil manner.

Your not healthy your young, there is a differance. I am not fat either but I am over weight and that reflects in my health. I in my family we tend to have weight problems and type 2 diebetes. I have been able to advoid diebetes by watching my diet and staying active. The weight problem in america is linked to inactivity, and processed foods which then leads to diabetes.
I know this because I don't just take one veiw for granted. I search out as many views on a subject as I can before making a decision about something. And I don't always take the most publised opinion but rather the one that makes the most sence.

Haven't seen you for awhile. Get out your books and restudy on Diabetes. Type 2 diabetes is caused by the foods we eat or lack there of. In one is born with diabetes most times that will be type 1 where they need insulin. Most people (not all) that aquire deabetes later in life aquire diabetes because of the food they eat. Of course this depends on the health care provider you are talking to. Oh and yes you can get rid of diabetes type 2 non dependent with proper diet.
