Re: Odds & Ends, Bits & Pieces!

Here's what I'm thinking.....

I'm about to shoot one of my employees......

She's 68, works part time and we just hired another part timer to share the job with her. I worked ALL morning on a schedule for them (for the rest of the year).

She wants every other Monday off.

So I totally revamp how we use to set the schedule up to accommodate her. It was easy, gave her the every other Monday off and each paycheck would be 40 hrs (PT).

She studies it and then says, Reeenda (very southern drawl), with this schedule I'll have a whole week off every other week. I don't want to be alone that long of a time.

So, being the kind and compassionate person that I am and understanding what it's like living alone - I rework the schedule.

Two days one week, three days the next week. There, now you don't have a whole week off anymore.

About 30 minutes later, after she's had time to digest the schedule, she says, Reeeenda, now instead of having 7 days straight off twice a month, I have even more weeks off.

I look at her like she's crazy......

So, now she's complaining because when she works Thur-Fri one week and Mon-Tue-Wed the next week, then she'll have seven straight days off until she works again because of the weekends.

Oh MY WORD............

Okay, I feel better and didn't have to tell her to shut up!

A little.

She's the kindest, funny, go getter of a lady when she's not dumb so you can't stay upset with her too long.

Since there are others around us instead of saying it outloud, I did email her and told her she better stop complaining because the other ladies are tired of her wanting her cake and eating it too. LOL!!!!

Word has it, he fell off a roof once. Strange site, he was gliding down holding onto an umbrella. That umbrella belonged to his friend Mary. Mary Poppins.

All that I know is that people are people no matter where you meet up with them. There is at least one in every school, workplace, church.....you name it they are there!
