Given that we've already "climbed Jacob's ladder" and have been poking around for some time now, I really don't think most fundamentalists would see the incongruity in accepting and allowing these endeavors and their own "Satanic visions" that they paste onto the Tower of Babel story.
To be a consistent fundamentalist you necessarily have to be inconsistent in so many other areas that it just becomes part of the garb.
