Absolutely...I have the 'Best of' on LP and it is great...

If I remember correctly, in his book about them, Buck said he was licensed with the UPC but Dottie was not. It's been some time since I read this so I could be wrong. I don't remember how long ago that book was written. Buck and Dottie were still together and I think Dony and Reba had two children. Dony had been delivered from drugs and was clean.

Bro. Epley,
If I remember correctly, wasn't your pastor Bro. Jimmy Russell? Or did you just know him from back in KY? I read the book about him called The Coal Miner Preacher. He visited our our (ALJC) church once many years ago with his choir. I guess Bro. Sizemore knew him from KY. I had the impression (could be wrong) that he believed in salvation at repentance/faith but it should be followed up with baptism in Jesus' name and the HGB (Holy Ghost baptism). I also thought he was independent (I was wrong on this so I may be wrong on the one-step thing too) but in his biography he is identified as UPC. I'm not saying anything bad about him. I've just wondered about the one-step thing. Maybe he was one of those one-steppers that preached Acts 2:38 so strongly that folks didn't know they were one-steppers.

I asked the same question re his pastor being Bro. Russell. My godbrother is Reg Nevitt formally from the Madisonville church...his parents still go there.

It will be interesting for me to get his take on your post...this is MOST enlightening.

The only error was that my brain was thinking Reba and my hands typed Dottie!!

Obviously Buck and Dottie didn't leave the UPC when Dottie was a little girl! It was Buck and Dottie left the UPC when Reba was a little girl.

Bro. Russell did believe you was saved at repentance but I NEVER heard him preach that. He preached Acts 2:38 so strong everyone thought he believed Acts 2:38 or Hell. His personal view was only the born again(Acts 2:38) of the church go into the kingdom or millenial reign they rest go into the judgment and are judged by what they knew. I talked with him about this many times I NEVER did believe this. He was independent when I was growing up but later joined the UPC. Bro. Sizemore's family were friends of Bro. Russell for years. His uncle went to our church most of the time I was growing up.
