HMH is endorsed by the deafiening silence from those who should speak out the loudest.

Br Segraves article, published in the Herald, although a very good and needful article, was like one drop of rain on a forest fire.
Free,
DKB believes I Cor 15 speaks of a woman having long hair. He believes that, while not necessary, a woman may present that to God to show that they have been obedient and submissive to the Word. He also stated that we shouldn't use this to manipulate our prayers before God. I wouldn't encourage that in any way, but at least he did say that we cannot use this to manipulate God.

Now, on the HMH, I believe you must be very careful and not coming running in like a bull in a china closet in order to dispel this teaching. You have to gently teach and turn this around. Being up in arms, as we appear to be on this forum, is not the way to go, IMO. You will get more stopped ears than a willing listener with that method. I think that is just human nature to close off the messenger when they run in full force. It's a bit alarming for many people and they will simply turn a deaf ear.

You know how it is when two people are fighting. The one that is the loudest and most angry is the one people will turn against - even if that person is right about the issues involved in that fight!

We are a bit forceful with our words on this forum as it is the nature of debate here. It is not the same, IMO, as presenting our arguments before a congregation. I think we would all tone it down some if in front of an audience.

I am seeing, for myself, that there are some that cannot wrap their brain around the correct reading and proper exegesis of this text and it is very upsetting and startling to them. I am seeing that many women WANT to focus on the word POWER more than anything in that whole passage.

I would rather be patient in this then to hurriedly try to force a view. IMO, it is the same as teaching someone about the Godhead, baptism, etc. We must be careful in our approach.

DS has laid a foundation, by his article, as a point of reference and that is a grand start. I believe that was the wisest thing to do. Mainly, because the ministers receive the Herald, but not all churches order them for their congregations. The leadership is who needs to read this the most. You know that he did not come up with this article off the cuff. There had to have been some deep discussion going on to have that article accepted and printed.

From my point of view and from my observation, I don't know any perfect doctrinal teaching going forth in any of the multiple organizations in the world. In other words, I'm not going to jump ship for any other church group that has their own problems or doctrines I do not agree with. I was going to elaborate on some of those doctrinal errors that I have observed or seen posted here, but that would be for another thread.
